Where you choose to bank matters. That’s the message that the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) and Audubon Savings Bank are sending loud and clear throughout April, which is ICBA Community Banking Month. Consumers have the power to make change happen at the community level by aligning with their community bank and putting their money to work in the neighborhood that they call home. See ICBA’s new Community Banking: Know the Difference video, which helps break it down.
“Audubon Savings Bank is honored to serve the lending needs of Audubon and surrounding communities. We care about our customers and are dedicated to helping our local residents and town thrive,” said Ken Stephon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Audubon Savings Bank. “ICBA Community Banking Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate community banking here and in communities across the nation, and to spread the positive story of our industry and the communities we serve.”
“Your choice of bank is your vote on where your money goes. Is it reinvested back into your own community, or is it sent off to a banking hub in another state or halfway around the world?” said third-generation community banker Rebeca Romero Rainey, ICBA’s chairman and chairman and CEO of Centinel Bank of Taos, N.M. “When you deposit funds in your community bank, that money is redistributed back into the community in the form of loans to residents and entrepreneurs.”
From local farms to craftsmen to startups, banking locally with a community bank connects you to your community and your neighbors and gives everyone a stake in its financial success. Here are a few reasons why:
When you use our chip card in a chip-enabled terminal, remember: instead of swiping the card, insert it into the reader and leave it there until the terminal prompts you to remove it.
At chip-enabled terminals, insert the card with the chip toward the terminal, facing up. Do not remove until prompted.
Provide your signature or PIN as prompted by the terminal. If the amount is low, you may not have to do either.
When the terminal says the transaction is complete, remove the card.
You may encounter a merchant that has a chip terminal but isn’t accepting chip card transactions yet. Even if the terminal is not yet chip-enabled, you can swipe the card’s magnetic stripe as you always have.
As part of America Saves Week 2017, scheduled for February 27 – March 4, 2017, Audubon Savings Bank is spreading the saving message and encouraging our customers to make savings automatic! A little bit each day can go a long way! Here are some savings tips to keep you active throughout the week:
Back for another year! Starting out 2017, our Audubon Branch has picked the first charity: the National Kidney Foundation! An Audubon Branch employee thought it would be a great “thank you” for her niece, who recently received a kidney transplant just 2 days before her birthday on December 31st! Talk about a wonderful gift!
If you would like to learn more about the National Kidney Foundation, you can visit their website at www.kidney.org.
We would also like to thank the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation for their wonderful letter of thanks for last quarter’s donation:
On behalf of the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation, we sincerely and most graciously thank you for your donation we received, that was made in heartfelt support of our Foundation by the Audubon Savings Bank, Pine Hill, NJ Branch officers and staff.
Please know that your “special donation” will enable the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation to continue their “Teal Ribbons of Hope” campaign to promote the awareness and symptoms of the deadly disease—Ovarian Cancer.
The Susan Marie Rupp Foundation began their “Teal Ribbons of Hope” campaign in memory of Susan in 2010, with a goal that our efforts to inform others of the symptoms of this deadly disease may prevent other families from suffering the loss of a loved one.
Your grateful donation will support our efforts to attain this goal.
SUSAN MARIE RUPP FOUNDATION
Ruth Mc Cullen,
Thanks to all of our Bank employees for their continued generosity and for making a difference in our local communities! Here’s to a great 2017!
